Disability / SEND Trampoline Classes at Chessington Sports Centre

-

In partnership with Kingston Council and British Gymnastics, we are now offering Disability / SEND Trampoline Classes at Chessington Sports Centre.

To get started, we require everyone to attend a 30-minute one-to-one Disability New Member Consultation (£25).  These are held on a Wednesday at 7:00pm. Following the consultation, the participant can then book into the Disability Drop-In Class held on a Friday 5:30-6:30 pm at Chessington: £15 per class (ages 8.5+)

Please read the information below carefully before booking a Disability New Member Consultation. If you have any questions please call 0208 941 7083. Please note, we only offer Disability / SEND classes at our Chessington location.

Who is the Disability New Member Consultation for?

This consultation is for individuals with mild to moderate disabilities who wish to join the Disability Drop-In classes held at Chessington Sports Centre.

What content is covered in the New Member Consultation?

Mounting and dismounting the trampoline and basic jumps and skills. The consultation allows participants to experience the trampoline and learn the basics before joining the group-based, Disability Drop-In class. It is also an opportunity for the participants, coaches and carers to meet and discuss any additional needs or support that is required.

What should participants wear?

Tight-fitting sports attire should be worn to classes. Socks must be worn and you should bring athletic shoes which you can run in. All jewellery needs to be removed (piercings, rings, necklaces, bracelets, religious items) prior to the class. If you have a recent piercing or any body jewellery which cannot be removed, you must inform us prior to the class. This is for your own safety and our coaches safety. Long hair needs to be tied up, neatly and securely to prevent it from covering the eyes. For safety, head coverings must be removed.

Disabilities, learning needs or medical conditions

To ensure the best experience, please share any disability, learning needs or medical conditions during the booking process. This will help the coach prepare for the consultation and offer the best possible experience to the participant. If any additional manual handling is required this can be prepared in advance.

Parents/guardian/carers

  • A parent/guardian/carer must stay on-site and stand next to the trampoline.
  • Sport or leisure attire should be worn with trainers – avoid jeans, zips and hooded tops.
  • No mobile phones or electronic devices should be used by the side of the trampoline.

  • This is a 1:1 consultation to join a group class. You can only attend one consultation.
